Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden!
Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!
- Theoden, King of Rohan

there is nothing to fear...

...but fear itself. Well... I felt good after that rant. =)

We were able to talk to Sir Mitch and he was receptive to what we had to say. He even told us that next time a big problem comes up, we should approach him earlier. I'm not sure about the itty-bitty details yet, but he said he was going to talk to the Comp Sci teachers and probably reach a compromise that will be to the satisfaction of both respected teachers and students.

For now, there's the next exercise, more self study, and some Dragonlance. =D

there is nothing to fear but fear itself...

I wish. But my fears right now are solid and real. I don't get it. I just don't. The solution to the problem is very simple. Cut the course short. No, I don't mean stop classes and not credit ex-SSD3-aka-Objects. I mean CUT THE COURSE SHORT. Forget the next chapters about stacks and all that fuck. WE WILL NEVER LEARN THEM IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS. AND EVEN IF WE FINISH THEM AND SOMEHOW SCRAPE THROUGH THE EXAM AND PASS THIS SUBJECT (how this will happen is beyond me), WE, THE PRODUCT OF THIS SUMMER'S SSD3 WILL BE ON THE SAME LEVEL OF AMA STUDENTS. MAYBE WORSE. WHERE IS THE QUALITY EDUCATION, I ASK YOU? WHERE?

I side with Benz in getting angry this morning at people who do not listen and distract the rest of the class. I agree with his request for respect. Hell, eventhough I think he's not an effective teacher most of the time, I still respect him. Some people are meant to teach, some are not. Just like some people are meant to be surgeons, some just pass gas. But I do not agree with his statement that "...we have given you everything..." cause he has not. WE DO NOT ASK TO BE SPOONFED. WE ASK TO BE TAUGHT PROPERLY.

For most of us, this summer has been a complete fiasco. A waste of precious money and time. As if iCarnegie alone weren't enough, we now have to contend with the probability that we will fail this subject, or worse, pass it with minimum knowledge.

That's why I just don't get why intelligent people can not see the solution/answer that is staring at them in the face. Cut the course short and go over what was supposed to have been taught and learned. Forget the next chapters. Concentrate and improve the lessons from 1.0 Java Overview to 3.2.2 Sorting and Searching Arrays. SPOT THE WEAKNESSES AND STRENGTHEN THEM. Concentrate on building the solid foundation, not on trying to catch up to what is recent, what is hi-tech and cutting edge. The development of technology is just a modification of the original. But if we can't understand the original, how can we modify? If you think about it, iCarnegie has given us a way to fix the weakness. I just don't know why we aren't taking the hint. Is it because we want to hold on to iCarnegie in a way? Is it because we fear change? Or is it because, sadly, we are not intelligent enough or brave enough to change?

Just thoughts... all mine... no right, no wrong...

Don't want to waste more money, more time...

Silvara is a silver dragon...

I left my Dragonlance book at home. Drat, and here I was, so excited to read it while riding the MRT. Alas, someone cast a forgetfullness spell on me and I left the book on my computer table. But I was right! Silvara is a silver dragon. She's the sister of Huma's silver dragon/first and only love. And right now, she's in love with an elflord, Gilthanas. At least they both have really long lives...
